  Welcome to Signal Books

“Smartest and most stylish of travel publishers.”—The Independent

In this, the eighth year of its existence, Signal Books continues to produce a refreshing mix of innovative travel guides and cultural studies. Despite the growing influence of the big publishing conglomerates and the pressure on small presses, we are pleased, as an independent company, to have reached one hundred titles in print. While we are adding several more important titles to our well-established travel series, Cities of the Imagination and Landscapes of the Imagination, we are also proud to publish exceptional writing in the fields of philosophy, current affairs and history. This year, we launch our Caribbean Lives Series, which offers short, readable life histories that celebrate some of the Caribbean’s most distinguished personalities and their contribution to the wider world.
